Oscillation is not a single universal function. A machine may sweep across the court, alternate between two selected locations or execute a programmed sequence. Some systems vary height or depth as well. The useful question is what ball pattern reaches the player and how much control you have over that pattern.

Separate direction from sequence

A horizontal sweep changes the direction of the feed. It does not by itself promise a precisely timed forehand-backhand alternation or a chosen sequence of short and deep balls. Ask the seller to demonstrate the exact pattern you need, including the pauses between shots.

Two-line feeding can support a repeatable movement task when its positions suit your drill. A custom sequence may be more useful when you need individual shots to differ.
